How will my personal information be managed?

The Service Provider Portal (SPP) for the National Mental Health Website is maintained by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care (the Department) to enable approved mental health services to manage their digital mental health resources and services displayed on the Head to Health website.

The law protects how your personal information will be managed in accordance with this privacy notice and the Department’s Privacy Policy.

What information will be collected and why?

The Department is collecting your personal information because:

  • you are applying on behalf of your organisation for approval to be listed on the Head to Health website; or
  • your organisation has nominated you as the contact person if the Department needs to get in touch about the SPP or your organisation’s digital content; or
  • because you require an SPP login account to manage your organisation’s content displayed on the Head to Health website.

The Department collects your personal information through the online application submitted by your organisation, or if you or your organisation notifies us of any change in your details (for example, if your work contact details change).

The personal information which the Department collects will comprise the following:

  • your name and email if you are submitting an online application for your organisation to be listed on the Head to Health website;
  • your name, position title, work email and work phone number if your organisation has nominated you as the contact person for any enquiries relating to the SPP or your organisation’s content on the Head to Health website; and

  • your login email if you require a login account to access the SPP.

If you do not provide this information, the Department will not be able to process your organisation’s application to be listed on the Head to Health website.

Who will my personal information be shared with?

Your personal information will be disclosed to the Department’s delivery partners such as Liquid Interactive and Speedwell, who have responsibility for administering the National Mental Health Platform.  The Department may need to share your information with another party if it is required or permitted to do so by law.

Your personal information will not be disclosed to overseas recipients.

How can I access or correct my personal information, or make a complaint about how my personal information is managed?

The Department’s Privacy Policy has details about how you can access your personal information, and how you can ask the Department to correct your information if it is wrong.

The Department’s Privacy Policy also has details about how you can make a complaint if you believe the Department has mishandled your personal information, or breached the Australian Government Agencies Privacy Code or the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
